This is the infamous little drawing by the hand of the winemaker’s wife, Luca Hulst. A ”situation sketch” that is part of a court record of a session presided by judge W.E Elzinga, Nov 5th 2007. Hulst was ”sworn in” as a crown witness, and testified about an “assault”.

For two years she kept quiet about it. Didn’t tell her friends, her children, nor her parents. Until the record was published in 2009. Which brought about a short circuit in the Maastricht courthouse, and in the Apostelhoeve’s inner circle. What was the case? Mrs. Hulst never set foot in the court building. The judge wrote a story in the category fiction.

Someone at the Bisschopsingel 53 Police Station had a great idea months earlier: wouldn’t the notable winemaker’s wife be the ideal person to lay down a reliable crown witness testimony of an ”assault”? Whoever put the question, Luca Hulst-Nijsten said yes. She didn’t have to sign. She only had to nod her head. 

First person narrator in that testimony is officer Jan Ten Brink and he formalized it in 39-page police file 2006145758. Which later would be used as the basis for the Nov. 5th court session. As we know now, the court room, besides judge, DA and clerk, was empty, but the documents spell out quite accurately what happened there, though the devil was in the details.

Elzinga “interrupted” proceedings to “reflect on further action”. Here she switched over to private mode. She got on the phone with fellow judge and colleague at the Law Faculty, Malva Driessen – whose name had surfaced as accuser in the case – asking for some input to produce a believable court record.

That resulted in this scribble about a situation that never happened. It seems as if Hulst is saying: ”if I do this minimalistic thingy that says absolutely nothing, they can’t hold it against me”. She drew it sometime later that week, at her kitchen table.

CHECKS AND BALANCES

Joost Italianer is a lawyer. He works for one of the bigger firms, Nauta Dutilh, in Amsterdam. He represents several major accounting firms on fraud related issues and criminal investigations. The website also states he conducted a large internal investigation for a major Dutch bank.

Member of the Capital Market Advisory Committee of the Authority for the Financial Markets. Thrown in casually almost, the firm mentions that Italianer is a judge at the Haarlem Criminal Court.

The Politician of the Year has presented his manifesto for the upcoming parliamentary elections, on one single sheet of paper: ”de-islamize” the country altogether, ”strip the girls of their headscarves, close islamic schools and mosques, and ban the Koran”.

Police ''assume" it's a natural death, because "at first glance" there were no suspicious circumstances. They made the telephone call to Finland and informed the parents that their son won't return home. Case closed.

Jassim Aba Al-Khail (22) just started his study European Law at Maastricht University. He was found dead in his room, Statensingel 173, last Thursday. Actual cause of death remains undisclosed.

TBS Clinic De Rooyse Wissel in the News: Cocaine, weapons, missing patients, dead patients – three in three days – heroine, hostage situations and sex with the staff. And that’s only after reading a few articles from this seemingly infiniteGoogle listing.

Reading a bit longer and, again, the MU Forensic Psychology Department pops up. There’s a flow of money from De Rooyse Wissel to Maastricht University, in exchange for research results that should lead to faster resocialization of patients.

At the same time, MU forensic psychologists have a job on the side as expert witness Pro Justitia, which, in theory, means they submit objective reports about suspects at the request of the DA or the Judge. In practice, they help sending away considerable numbers of people, you guessed it, to TBS clinics.

Turns out that Dr. Otgaar c.s. assess mental state not only regarding violent crime, for which TBS originally was intended. Just a few weeks ago, a man from the Maastricht area was convicted to two years clinic for not paying the bill in a few restaurants.

In 2012 the EU Human Rights Court ruled that the Netherlands immediatly release a couple of hundred petty crime offenders from TBS clinics. The Dutch Supreme Court 'overruled' the verdict. Non-existent in legal terms, but quite a creative solution if you’re unable to comply. Problem with those numbers. The discrepancies between what goes in and what comes out are becoming more obvious.

NRC journalists discovered that 38 citizens, without a warrant from the Judge, went in through the back door. Locked up for undefined amounts of time. If they leave alive at all. The Justice Department responded: these people are ”potential offenders of the law”.

BLACK OR BLUE?

Amir's shoe played an essential role throughout the police file. Officer Frijns ''confiscated a black sneaker at 0.200 a.m. dec 1, in front of nightclub Backstage'' (page 41,42,43). A forensics officer with a dog was called in to sniff the shoe and do a search. 

This officer, Hartkamp, describes on page 44 he received a blue sneaker from his colleague. These police actions were among the first that night. They were registered last in the row. With numbers 2007170431-83 an 84.

It was a hilarious scene: mayor Hoes left the building, 10 December 2014, resigned from office. The next day he was back and reinstated himself for another six months. Without even a hint of hesitation he said that ''this is best for the city''. Fast Forward. Thursday April 23th 2015. 
The City Council Selection Committee announces the new mayor. Ceremony begins at 8:30 p.m. The L1 anchor opens with a surprise: ”there is a delay, a ‘quarrel’ has arisen at City Hall”.

The University issued the cause of death, shortly after Thijs Eberson (22) had been found lifeless in the Circumflex Fraternity House, November 2012: ''narrowed oesophagus''. He allegedly choked on his own vomit. Not the Police, but Maastricht University took care of all communications regarding Thijs' death. No mention of an autopsy.

The question is still quite relevant today: which information led to this remarkable medical conclusion? MU's Answer: ''No Comment''.

The defendant remained silent, so the DA tried something else. He called the defendant’s lawyer to the witness stand, by subpoena.

The City of Maastricht is using a track-and-trace app to follow students in a survey that monitors travel behaviour. Project leader Katya Ivanova made the students an offer they can't refuse, 600 euros, in return for their signature, thus making the whole thing legit.

And this week municipal officers started knocking on the doors of 500 student houses. They will step inside for what they call a general inspection. Is cooperating voluntary? I wonder what happens if the students just don't let them in?

Disrespect is a fundamental right, Charlie Hebdo took it to the limit. Europe took to the streets after the attack on the magazine, basically to defend that very right to mock and insult.

The Limburger adopted the Je Suis Charlie sign and took a stand pro freedom of press. But the readers are confused. A couple of years ago, cartoonist Ruben Oppenheimer was fired because he didn't abide by the newspaper's philosophy of ''keeping the church in the middle'', as the editor, Huub Paulissen, put it in an e-mail to the cartoonist.

Cartoons about the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church were censored, one after another. Considered too disrespectful here in the South. 

By the way, not a single person started a protest when Oppenheimer was terminated.

The dust of the Bits of Freedom Awards barely settled, NOS reporting that the Government is still tapping lawyers.

''The time that the schools were a safe place is long gone''

The Big Brother Award 2014 goes to....the Dutch schools, for categorically violating the children's right to privacy. The school boards allow the GGD – the Government agency that ''guards'' youth health - to set up shop in the building and monitor the children in every move they make. Every boy and girl has a record at age 11.

A GGD school doctor even inspects the children's private parts to keep track of their physical development. The teachers present the prevention programs as obligatory school activity. Not participating is not an option. And this is where the Bits of Freedom Expert Jury strongly objects. The schools should stop facilitating.

Constitutional Chaos.

The Mayor resigned, but refuses to leave. He insists on making a dignified retreat in 6 months. Pundits agree; this is an illegal construction. Hoes went to the Interior Ministry today, where the deal apparently was closed. City Council was bypassed. Councilman John Steijns: ''Hoes presented the matter to us as a fait accompli''.

Mayor Hoes under fire. City Council in denial. The local newspaper lost the plot. The high school kids have taken over and they are reporting unfolding events on Twitter and Facebook. Police not amused. The people of Maastricht are anxiously awaiting the end of the turmoil surrounding the lingering story about local authorithies that keep on crossing lines.

The only solution is to arrest the instigators, who exposed themselves recycling, falsifying, copying and pasting public documents. Problem: they work at the Bisschopsingel Bureau..

Former Representative Oudkerk: ''This is the end of the PvdA.''

The PvdA obligated MP's Kuzu and Őztürk to sign an affidavit making them pledge allegiance to the party. Party leadership was not amused that the two had criticized their own Minister.

''We have freedom of speech in the Netherlands'', Őztürk replied. ''We sign nothing''. Consequently, the PvdA kicked them out. Being banned from Parliament, however, is impossible.

The two dissidents will return as individual representatives, free from any party discipline and they are going to do what they wanted to all along: answering burning questions coming from their constituency, the people who voted them into office.

This actually is a good thing. Moving one step away from the smothering Polder Model of compromise politics, where issues must always be resolved in the most civilized way. And one step closer to how a truly democratic system was intended. Of the People, By the People and For the People.

New Press Rules in Parliament:

Journalists are only allowed to approach MP's and Ministers with camera off. The politicians are fed up being put on the spot and embarrassed by inconvenient questions, especially from the progressive news media. From now on, if a politician says no, that really means NO! Camera stays off. 

Parliament claims final say over footage shot in the building. Airing interviews against the MP's will is a ''punishable offense''. 

600 refugees, most of whom escaped the war in Syria, will receive a warm welcome when they arrive in Maastricht next month. They are going straight to prison. The vacant Overmaze Penitentiary.

Suited accommodation, according to Mayor Hoes, until the intended building downtown is renovated, in two to three years. These 600 men, women and children will be doing the time, about the same amount as a sentence for armed robbery.

ONE DECEASED, TWO DEATH CERTIFICATES

Occasionally, small bits of the unrelenting truth seeped through in police file 2007170431. Page 288: ''the deceased is registered at the the City of Maastricht and the death certificate relating thereto has been added on page 295''.

Page 295, however, was missing when Kadija picked up the police file at her lawyer’s. Another death certificate came to the surface; “deceased in Eijsden”, signed by Mrs Huits-van Hooren, City employee and the cousin of one of the coroners, Roland van Hooren.

The main coroner is René Cardynaals. His autopsy report is a document, as it turned out, that couldn’t be verified by the man himself. He ”didn’t know his phone number could end up in a police file”, he says in a recorded interview. This is strange because at the bottom of the autopsy report his signature is placed right on top of that very number.

He is quite insistent that he didn’t give it away, because it’s mainly his private number. Then who wrote this autopsy report, typed on blank sheets of paper, no GGD or hospital logos?

CITY OF GRONINGEN, 6 NOVEMBER 2013:

Police break into 30 student houses. Just to show the students that they can. ''Anti-burglary exercise'', the PD explains. It turned out they put in an extra effort: officers did a little snooping around inside the student dorms and ''found valuable things like laptops and tablets''.

When they were finished, the cops left behind a Polaroid of themselves posing in the room, as a token of their visit.

The two children in this video are screaming for their mother while a police unit separates them and takes them away, by orders of the Salvation Army Youthcare & Probation (LJ&R). Culemborg, the Netherlands. 

This family was under custody of the Government, meaning they lost their sovereign citizen status and had to follow orders in the daily upbringing of the children, the so-called OTS-measure.

If families don’t cooperate, a judge can issue a UHP warrant, Out of Home Placement of the children, which is exactly what happens in this video. This mother was never convicted of a crime, nor were any charges filed against her. 

The purely subjective decision whether or not a family complies in many cases is made by the Salvation Army’s LJ&R, which resides under the Justice Department and actually uses the Justice Department’s email suffix. 

The evidence comprises offences against the law book of education: “too much tv, drinking from plastic cups, unable to name vegetables”. But we also saw phrases like “family system is getting too big” or “too much criticism on government institutions”. 

A civil court judge hears these cases and sides with authorities in over 95%. The children in this video were transported to the Christian William Schrikker Stichting.

It was a good weekend for Pieter van de Laarschot, officer at the Maastricht Police Department. He changed his police uniform for the uniform of the Lord and was ordained Deacon, became member of the clergy, in hierarchy right next to Priest. The ceremony was performed by the Bishop himself.

Monday morning back to work at the police station, pistol on his belt and the bible in his pocket.

GESTAPO HOUSE CALLS

Media voice their concern about the Anonymous Crime Tip Line, this time in relation to drugs. The tolerance policy allows individuals to carry 5 grams of weed and grow 5 cannabis plants. Those very quantities, however, make every household a target.

Five plants technically is a plantation, and where there is five, there's likely to be more.

This is where that other policy kicks in: reasonable suspicion, police don't need a  warrant from the judge to enter a premises. A certain smell or a certain behaviour is enough, and of course the anonymous tip. It's perfectly in line with Dutch Law, which convicts citizens on ''reasonable assumption''.

Suppose you're fed up with that annoying Mr. Johnson from across the street: just call the Crime Tip Line and tell them he has a weed plantation in his basement. Guaranteed an anti-drugs unit will show up banging in his door.

GeenStijl.nl appropriately calls it The House Call Gestapo. Mainstream media are ringing the alarm bells as well, because too many innocent hard working families who have never touched or seen any drugs, are becoming victim of these raids.

The tolerance policy as a vehicle to enter any home authorities deem fit. The brutal crackdown policy gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'Mr. Policeman is only one phone call away'.
